Dear NRNA Founders, Presidents, IES, OB, ICC Members, and Fellow NRNs,
Greetings to all!
On this special occasion of NRN Day, I want to extend my warmest wishes to our entire Non-Resident Nepali (NRN) family across the globe. Today, we honor the remarkable journey we’ve embarked on together—bound by our shared love and commitment to Nepal, no matter how far we are from home.
Since the birth of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), we have stood united as a force for positive change. Together, we’ve not only contributed to the development of Nepal but also safeguarded the well-being of Nepalis living abroad. Over the years, our unity and collective efforts have borne tangible results—from disaster relief efforts and healthcare initiatives to education programs and infrastructure projects. Every achievement is a testament to our unwavering dedication.
Unity has always been our greatest strength, and in today’s ever-changing world, it has become even more essential. As we face global challenges, our togetherness will be the key to navigating these uncertainties, ensuring that we emerge stronger and more resilient. Only by remaining united as a global Nepali community can we protect our shared interests, uplift each other, and continue contributing to the prosperity and development of our homeland.
As Deputy General Secretary of the NRNA International Coordination Committee (ICC), I am incredibly proud of the progress we have made. But today, we not only celebrate our past accomplishments—we look toward the future. There are still many challenges and opportunities on the horizon, and it is our collective effort, collaboration, and shared vision that will allow us to continue making a difference.
The Strategic Goals of NRNA have always been clear: to unite all Nepalis living around the world, to protect and promote their interests both within and outside of Nepal, and to harness their talents and resources for the welfare of our nation. Our association is dedicated to building a global network of Nepali migrants, channeling their energy and potential to act as a catalyst for economic and social transformation in Nepal. Over time, NRNA has become the primary organization for Nepali migrants, facilitating collaboration, advocacy, and real action that benefits both our diaspora and our homeland.
We, as the NRN community, hold tremendous power to shape Nepal’s future. By investing in sectors such as tourism, education, technology, and sustainable development, we can contribute to a brighter, more prosperous Nepal. Our global network of NRNs possesses incredible potential to drive positive change, both in Nepal and in the countries we now call home.
As we celebrate NRN Day, let us renew our commitment to unity, collaboration, and service to the greater Nepali community. Let us take pride in our achievements and look forward with optimism and determination. Unity will remain the cornerstone of our progress, and together, we will continue to make Nepal proud.
Happy NRN Day to everyone!
With warm regards,
Som Nath Sapkota
Deputy General Secretary, NRNA ICC
