Promotional event showcasing Nepal’s tourism and culture NEPNEPAL NOW successfully held in Copenhagen

A very productive and meaningful Nepal Tourism Promotional Event was successfully organized by The Nepal Embassy Copenhagen in collaboration with Honorary Public Relations Representative of Nepal Tourism Board for Denmark.

Promotional campaign initiated to encourage potential tourists following the earthquake that struck Nepal on 25 April 2015 resulting into the colossal damage to life, property and infrastructure. More than 8,900 innocent people lost their valuable lives let alone the other public and private properties.

The programme is organized for both the purpose of commemorating the first anniversary of the devastating earthquake and to share the status of tourism products and services, including the sharing of marvelous experiences gathered by the enthusiastic visitors who travelled to Nepal at the aftermath of the earthquake with a view to encourage the friends, well-wishers and potential travelers to visit Nepal at this critical time also to help the Nepalese people’s efforts to build back the country better

Mr. Som Nath Sapkota,Honorary public relations representative for Denmark Nepal Tourism Board, bid Welcome and brief the propose of the organizing the event. One minute of silence was held in memory of those who lost their lives in the earthquake followed by candle lighting by His Excellency the Ambassador Mr. Mukti Nath Bhatta.

Place branding strategies and storytelling from Iceland and put focus on the issue that most part of Nepal was not damaged by the Earthquake, which has not been mentioned by the media leaving the impression that Tourism was impossible with the result that Nepal´s tourism has dropped by 25-40%. A most inlightening presentation of what can be done to improve the image of Nepal as Tourist country already now, and that tourism is helping to rebuild Nepal better.Deputy Chief of Mission Mr. Ram Kaji Khadka spoke on the many reasons of “Why to Visit Nepal Now” and about the initiatives that the government is doing to promote and further development of the Tourism.

Regarding the trekking and different mode Video presentation called “Mountain Music” by the English journalist Mr.Richie Johnston Director www.richiejohnstonline.com and Mr. Niall McLoughlin.

Couture program, Folk Dance and Tamang Selo Dance where beautifully performed by Santa Thapa, Mallika Pradhan and Resu Upreti, and musik performance by Krishna Subedi, Dinesh Sapkota and Biki Maharjan.

His Excellency Mr. Mukti Nath Bhatta hereafter invited the guest for a general Traditional Nepalese meal from Royal Agra Palace.
