I am proud to have been a part of various social works throughout my life, and one of my most significant contributions has been in the education sector. Inspired by my own experiences, I started a library project in my own school, and over the years, it has grown to become one of the largest e-libraries in Nepal.

Our e-library houses more than 50,000 books offline, covering a wide range of subjects
Our e-library houses more than 50,000 books offline, covering a wide range of subjects, from science and technology to literature and history. It is not only accessible to the students of my school but also to students from different schools and places across Nepal.
As a Co-Chair of the library project of NRNA ICC in 2013/2015, I was able to extend the reach of the library to a wider audience, making it accessible to more Nepalese students around the world. Additionally, as the Europe Coordinator of the Nepal Library Foundation in 2014/2015 and the International Coordinator of the foundation in 2015/2017, I was able to support the foundation’s mission to provide better access to education through libraries across Nepal.

The library project has been successful in encouraging a love of reading and learning among students, and has helped to improve their academic performance. It has been an honour to be a part of this project and to see the impact it has had on the lives of Nepalese students.
Overall, the library is an excellent resource for students of all ages, providing them with access to a wide range of educational materials. Through this project, we have been able to contribute to the development of Nepal’s education sector, and I hope to continue supporting such initiatives in the future.
E-libraries offer a range of benefits including convenience, accessibility, and cost-effectiveness. They also help to promote digital literacy and access to educational resources in communities around the world. E-libraries are becoming increasingly popular, particularly in areas where physical access to educational resources is limited. Here are som few points about how e-library can boost education system.
- Access to educational resources: eLibrary provides access to a wide range of digital resources, including textbooks, reference materials, journals, newspapers, and audio books, which can be accessed from anywhere with an internet connection. This can be particularly beneficial for students and researchers in Nepal who have limited access to physical libraries and academic resources.
- Promoting digital literacy: eLibrary promotes digital literacy in Nepal by providing access to digital resources and requiring users to navigate and use the platform. This can help students and researchers to develop digital skills, which are increasingly important in today’s world.
- Cost-effectiveness: eLibrary is a cost-effective solution for students and researchers who cannot afford to buy expensive textbooks or access academic resources through other means. This can make education more accessible and affordable for many Nepali students.
- Rural and remote access: eLibrary can help to bridge the digital divide by providing access to educational resources in rural and remote areas where access to physical libraries and academic resources is limited. This can help to ensure that students in these areas have access to the same educational resources as students in more urban areas.
